Zoomies are some of the maddest moments in your dog\u2019s day. Officially called \u2018Frenetic Random Activity Periods\u2019, zoomies are when your dog displays a sudden burst of energy, often resulting in rapid running around in circles or doing laps of a room.<\/p>

A build-up of excess energy generally causes zoomies which are completely normal canine behaviour. Zoomies, also known as \u2018midnight madness\u2019 and \u2018crazy eights\u2019 often present as sudden running in wide circles in a series of laps. Dogs often break into a sprint suddenly; their back end tucked as they go and with a crazy and excited look in their eyes. Bouncing off and over furniture and people is common, especially when it\u2019s Jerry doing zoomies!<\/p>

Whilst zoomies are considered perfectly normal, the reasons dogs do them are not completely understood. Whilst it is completely healthy behaviour, dog owners need to be careful to avoid any risk of injury to both the dog and owner during intense zoomies.<\/p>
